Treasures of Christmas: Advent Study

Because every family is different, we have three different versions of our Advent Study. All three studies cover the same content and are similar, but the studies vary in length, complexity, and subjects covered. This page gives a brief overview of the differences between the three studies.

Homeschool Advent Study

This study is intended for homeschooling families with at least one child in 6th-12th grade. This is the longest of the three studies, it covers more subjects, and the topics covered are appropriate for older children, though younger children will still enjoy most of the content also.

Bible verses are ESV. The study is approximately 150 full-color pages. 

Elementary Advent Study

This study is intended for young homeschooling families with all children in 5th grade and younger. Lessons are shorter and simpler. 

Bible verses use the Easy Read Version (ERV). The study is approximately 125 full-color pages.

Advent Devotional

This study is intended for busy or non-homeschooling families. It is the shortest of the three studies and only includes the daily Scripture readings, apologetics, daily novel readings, and beautiful art to help set both the Biblical and novel scenes.

Bible verses are ESV. The study is approximately 100 pages.

Accompanying Novel: Treasures of the Snow

The novel, Treasures of the Snow, by Patricia St. John is required for the Advent Studies. Patricia St. John has been called “a poet of forgiveness” because her stories are interwoven with the Gospels and a focus on redemption. This novel, set in Switzerland, is perfect for the holiday season with its themes of redemption and sacrifice. The whole family is sure to enjoy this story!

Like many of our studies, we offer extra add-ons to make the study extra memorable. 

Treasures of Christmas: Coloring Book

This coloring book has a picture to color each day of Advent. It is perfect for small hands during family read-alouds or quiet reflection. There are twenty-five pictures to color, and the images are similar to the daily ornament for families who are using the ornaments.

Swiss Landscape Ornament

This beautiful wooden engraved ornament has two layers and shows a realistic Swiss landscape scene of Remointse de Pragra with chalets (houses) in the foreground and Mont Collon in the background. It is available with the Standard, Full, and Deluxe Kits.

If using the daily ornaments, this ornament will be used for Christmas Day. If using the Standard or Full Kit, this ornament is a fun keepsake.

It measures 4.5″ wide and 3″ high.

Set of 25 Wooden Ornaments

This stunning set of wooden engraved ornaments coordinates with the Advent Study and Coloring Book and includes one ornament to hang the first 25 days of Advent (with the Swiss Landscape ornament for Christmas Day). 

Ornaments measure 2.5″ in diameter, and they come in a packaged gift box (6 1/8″ wide x 2.5″ high). The ribbon on the gift box will be red, green, or white.

Ornaments are available with the Deluxe Kit.
