Our Elementary curriculum for grades K-5th is basically 70% of Lesson Book #1 from our Standard curriculum. There are several differences. The Elementary curriculum is divided into 120 lessons instead of 24 chapters. Each lesson is only 2-3 full color pages, so a shorter amount is covered each day. Reading out loud will probably only take 10-15 minutes per day. Workbooks include a page to color while the parent reads out loud.

Some of the wording in the Elementary Lesson Book is a little simpler, some of the content is covered more briefly, and some heavier topics have been left out. Examples of topics that have been left out of the Elementary curriculum include: New Age Shamanism, the differences between David Thompson’s genuine faith and George Simpson’s profitable religion, what happened to Lewis and Clark after the Expedition, etc.

There are a few different kits since all families are different. For the Elementary curriculum, while the Hands-on Activities are not absolutely required, they really do add a lot, which is why this book is included with all of our Elementary Kits. The Hands-on Activities Book is the same for both our Standard and Elementary curriculum, but the Elementary curriculum only uses about 27 of the activities.
